The Central Library on Kyung Hee University's Seoul Campus opened with 700 books donated by Dr. Young Seek Choue in 1951 in a temporary building in Busan amidst the Korean War.
The current building is made of stone and was completed on June 13, 1968. As of October 2011, it had about 1.33 million books and 32,000 electronic journals. The library also hosted the second meeting of the International Association of University Presidents in 1968.
The main facilities include the circular central room, the reference room, and the periodicals room, as well as a special archives room, which contains materials published in North Korea and the pro-North Korean residents' league in Japan, the Four Seasons Children's Library, the technology and information room, and the user support center for guests with disabilities and general information.
In order to provide the most appropriate academic information services possible, specialized materials are located at the College of Oriental Medicine, the College of Law, the College of Medicine, the College of Music, the College of Fine Arts, the Kyung Hee Medical Center, and the Graduate Institute of Peace Studies.
